Linda has been a member of the guild for almost 30 years. Her major craft has always been floral arrangements due to working as a Floral Manager for one of the supermarkets in town. She started doing school craft shows and entered her ceramic items. One of her friends also did ceramics, so wanting to be unique from her friend she switched to floral arrangements. She also loves to crochet and finds that the little items she makes sell really well since they are not high priced. Her famous “sombreros” have quickly become one of her top sellers. They are little sombrero-shaped hats that fit on the knob of a casserole cover to prevent burned fingers. She can sell up to 100 of them a show.
Linda also likes to make magnets and utilizes her favorite subjects – birds. She makes ornaments in all different colors of birds and does very well with these. She has designed some new ornaments with birds on lace that attached to a clothespin as the way of clipping it to the tree branch. These have also become very popular.
Linda has utilized the abundant supply of pine cones from her yard to create ornaments, candle holders, and sprays the pine cones silver to go with a whimsical poem about elves. Linda also likes to create “one of a kind” floral arrangements for Christmas. She hunts down special containers for these pieces. Her most favorite containers are mugs. These come in all colors and have cute sayings on them. There are also very pretty ones for Christmas. Once again, small and not as expensive as a large arrangement, making them very popular.
Miniature trees are also of interest to Linda. She decorates some with different size birds, others are decorated with the use of sea shells and a string of pearls for garland. Both are very popular, but not always available.
