Mercedes is a loving mother and wife, an entrepreneur, and a sourdough cottage baker. Utilizing her MBA, she established Loafing Around LLC in the Fall of 2025, after friends and family finally convinced her to start selling her delicious handcrafted homemade bread to her neighbors and community. Mercedes finds so much joy from the happiness her bread brings to others. Making others smile through her bakes warms her heart.

Baking sourdough is a three-day process; each loaf is a true labor of love. In addition to its delicious flavor, Mercedes’ sourdough bakes are made with simple, high-quality ingredients without any preservatives. Sourdough provides many health benefits due to its natural levitating yeast, long fermentation process, and simple ingredients. Sourdough has a lower glycemic index making it better for blood sugar regulation. The long fermentation process supports gut health with its prebiotic and probiotic properties, aids in digestion, and helps keep the stomach full and satisfied.
